On September 22, 2026, KazGASA hosted Cultural Night – KazGASA × IIUM, an evening dedicated to promoting cultural dialogue between Kazakhstan and Malaysia.
The event was held as part of a visit by representatives of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and continued the academic and cultural engagement between the two universities.
Manas Khasenov, Dean of the School of Architecture at KazGASA, and Dr. Zenat, representing IIUM, delivered welcoming remarks. They emphasized the importance of international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and stronger ties between the university communities of the two countries.
One of the central parts of the programme was a presentation of traditional clothing from Kazakhstan and Malaysia. Participants showcased national costumes, ornaments, and decorative elements reflecting the cultural identity of both nations. The Kazakh ethno-fashion show combined national motifs with contemporary design solutions.
The evening continued with an introduction to national cuisine. Guests were offered traditional dishes and learned about their history, preparation, and significance within the culture of hospitality.
Students from KazGASA and IIUM presented creative performances showcasing the musical and performing arts of their countries. A performance of a traditional Kazakh kui on the dombra by KazGASA students created a particularly memorable atmosphere.
During the informal networking session, students and faculty members exchanged impressions and became better acquainted with one another’s traditions. At the end of the evening, representatives of the two universities exchanged commemorative gifts as a symbol of friendship and future cooperation.
Cultural Night contributed to strengthening mutual understanding, expanding intercultural dialogue, and developing the long-term partnership between KazGASA and the International Islamic University Malaysia.
