KazGASA participated in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for the first time and joined the global community of universities developing their campuses and educational environments in accordance with sustainability principles.
UI GreenMetric evaluates universities in such areas as infrastructure development, energy efficiency, climate action, responsible water use, waste management, sustainable transportation, education, and research. The 2026 ranking included 2,016 universities from 110 countries.
Following its debut participation, KazGASA ranked:
- 1,077th worldwide;
- 644th among Asian universities;
- 16th among universities in Kazakhstan.
The Academy achieved its strongest results in key environmental categories:
- Energy and Climate Change – 8th in Kazakhstan, with a result placing it among the world’s top 500 universities in this category;
- Water Management – 6th in Kazakhstan, with a result placing it among the world’s top 700 universities;
- Waste Management – 7th in Kazakhstan, with a result placing it among the world’s top 700 universities.
These results reflect the profile and strategic priorities of KazGASA. Energy-efficient design, responsible resource use, environmental awareness, and green technologies form an important part of the Academy’s educational programmes and are consistently integrated into the development of its campus infrastructure.
Participation in UI GreenMetric expands opportunities for international benchmarking, knowledge exchange, and the continued improvement of environmental initiatives. For students, this means studying in an environment where sustainability principles are integrated into the education of future architects, construction professionals, engineers, and designers.
Entering the ranking on its first attempt marks the starting point for further systematic development. KazGASA will continue developing its green campus, implementing digital solutions, and expanding sustainability research while strengthening its position in the international academic community.
