Research of the Kulan Settlement: KazGASA Strengthens International Scientific Cooperation

National Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, faculty members and doctoral students of KazGASA’s school of Architecture conducted field research at one of the key monuments of the ancient Karatau region – the Kulan settlement (6th-13th centuries), located in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kulan settlement is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the unique cultural landscape of the Great Silk Road. During the research, special attention was given to the study of the palace complex, rare wall paintings, and the high level of decorative art of the era.

This work is aimed at preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples, as well as strengthening the university’s scientific potential and further developing the UNESCO Chair.
