On May 29, 2025, a guest lecture titled “How to Create Webtoons: Where to Start?” was held at the KazGASA. The event was organized in collaboration with the Korean Webtoon Manhwa Academy.
The lecture was delivered by Shin Grace, a guest speaker and expert in digital art and storytelling. Participants learned that Webtoons are a modern online platform for reading comics and web manga, offering a wide variety of genres and styles created by artists from around the world. The speaker shared insights into the stages of webtoon creation, the basics of visual storytelling, and the specific features of working in a digital environment.
The event was also attended by official representatives of the Korean Webtoon Manhwa Academy:
- Shin Gen Soon – Director of the Academy (Republic of Korea)
- John Kim – Director of the International Business Division (USA)
- Kim Ki Woo – Co-founder of the Academy (USA)
- Ella Pak – Commercial Director for CIS countries
As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the KazGASA, represented by Provost Bakhtiyar Asylbayevich Sabdenaliyev, and a representative of the Ulsan Metropolitan Government (Republic of Korea), Lee Sang Il, Director of Ulsan Digital Industry Promotion.
