On August 23, 2026, the official opening of the “Kazakhstan–Türkiye Youth Bridge: Young Architects Workshop” project was held in Istanbul, bringing together young professionals and students from the two countries.

The event was attended by a KazGASA delegation headed by Bakhtiyar Sabdenaliyev, Rector of KazGASA. The Kazakh delegation also included university staff and students.

The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and aims to develop professional cooperation between young architects from Kazakhstan and Türkiye, explore architectural heritage, and create joint project solutions.

Over the course of a week, 30 young architects from the two countries will explore Türkiye’s architectural heritage – from historic landmarks in Istanbul, including Hagia Sophia and the Suleymaniye Mosque, to the city’s contemporary architecture. Participants will work in mixed teams on joint projects, combining their knowledge, professional experience, and diverse approaches to architecture.

The project is particularly valuable for students and young professionals, as participation in the international workshop allows them to work in a multicultural professional environment, exchange experience with colleagues from another country, and expand their international professional networks.

During the opening ceremony, the Kazakh side also announced that the project will continue in Kazakhstan. In 2027, KazGASA, together with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will host the project participants in Almaty, where young architects from Kazakhstan and Türkiye will continue their joint work.

Thus, the project serves not only as a platform for professional exchange but also as part of the continued development of youth cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye in the fields of architecture, culture, and education.
