On November 23, 2025, a delegation of KazGASA took part in the International Forum on the Conservation and Use of Architectural Heritage, held within the framework of the 9th Beijing International Urban Planning Conference. The delegation included: Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the IEС Zhangazy Moldamuratov, Head of the UNESCO Chair Mekhribanu Glaudinova, and Advisor on International Cooperation and Innovation Madi Aldabergenov.

The event took place at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Center and focused on the theme: “Integrating Green Data and Empowering Heritage: Urban Resilience and a Sustainable Future through Design.”

The forum served as a major international platform for discussing the preservation of cultural and architectural heritage amid rapid urbanization. Representatives of 15 universities and organizations from China, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Italy, Australia, Norway, and other countries took part.

KazGASA presented Kazakhstan’s contribution to research in seismic-resistant construction and architectural heritage preservation. Vice-Rector Zhangazy Moldamuratov delivered a report titled “Multifactor Research of Seismic Resistance of Hydraulic Structures in the Foothill Zone of Almaty in the Context of Urban Safety.” Head of the UNESCO Chair Mekhribanu Glaudinova presented the results of the study “Preservation of Urban Historical Sites in Kazakhstan: The Case of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Koilyk.”

The forum addressed topics such as digitalization of architectural heritage, sustainable urban development, cultural tourism, and international scientific collaboration. Special attention was given to the creation of global platforms and transnational research projects aimed at protecting historical and cultural sites.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants emphasized the importance of further strengthening international cooperation and developing innovative solutions to preserve heritage for future generations.
