VIII-TH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL, CIVIL ENGINEERING AND DESIGN SCHOOLS OF EURASIA
VIII-International Festival of Architecture and Construction
and design schools of Eurasia
On November 16-17, 2018 at the Faculty of Urban Planning and Architecture (FUA) of the Technical University of Moldova the VIII-th International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia was held.
The International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia is held annually. The venue of the meeting every year becomes different countries with Architectural and Civil Engineering universities or departments.
In the International competition of the best graduation projects, final projects of 2018 on Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering majors from the universities of Eurasia took part.
On 16th of November 2018 the grand opening of the VIII-th International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia took place in the FUA exhibition hall. Rectors and professors from 63 universities from 17 countries of Asia and Europe took part in it.
The national anthems of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, and the Republic of Turkey were sounded. Welcoming remarks at the opening of the International Festival were made by:
- Minister of Education, Science and Culture of the Republic of Moldova Mrs. Monika Babuk;
- Rector of the Technical University of Moldova Mr. Viorel Bostan;
- President of the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering Mr. Amirlan Kusainov, organizer of the International Festival;
- General Secretary of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World Mr. Ilyas Demirci;
- Rector of the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering Mr. Yuri Skolubovich;
- Rector of the Odessa State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering Mr. Anatoly Kovrov;
- Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Issues of the University of Architecture and Urban Planning “Ion Mincu” Mr. Tiberiu Florescu.
The honored guests expressed their gratitude that the Festival has become a traditional event, annually join professional architects, designers and civil engineers, and it is not only a prestigious and honorable graduation competition of students and undergraduates final projects, but also a warm welcome and like-minded cooperation, who every year brings part of their work in the education of a new generation of professionals.
Year by year the International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia is growing stronger, acquiring new friends and expanding its borders!
During the opening of the Festival the following presentations of the projects of the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic world were presented:
1. The 1915 Canakkale Bridge;
2. Istanbul Airport;
3. Gazi Gunduzalp Complex and Hirkatape Living History Museum;
4. City Museum of Trabzon;
5. Land register’s of building of Sinakan / Ankara;
6. Ilamur valley project of Kecioren municipality;
7. Ilisu Dam and Relocation of Cultural Heritage.
After the presentation of projects by Turkish colleagues jury members of the International review competition of the best graduation projects began their work. 383 final projects on the following majors took part in the competition: Architecture, Design, Civil Engineering, Production of Building Materials, Products and Constructions and Technology of Woodworking and Wood Products. More than 40 leading professors worked as jury members in different nominations from different universities.
On 17th November 2018 for the guests of the Festival an excursion was organized on a rare tram released in 1949. Festival participants also visited the National Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Moldova. Located in central Chisinau, the National Fine Arts Museum of Moldova displays impressive art collections from local and European artists. It has more than 30,000 exhibits arranged within five galleries: Medieval and creative folk, Bessarabian, contemporary Russian, Western and Eastern European, and set design and decorative-applied arts. The museum also holds a beautiful collection of Orthodox icons.
Gala dinner for the participants of the Festival held in the exhibition complex "MoldExpo", Celebration Hall "Casa sárbatorii". At the beginning of the closing ceremony professor from Shymkent city performed a musical number, performing a national Kazakh kuy on a dombra, this dombra was presented to the rector of TUM Mr. V. Bostan as a memorable gift. The folk ensemble and the children's choir of Chisinau presented wonderful national, colorful show at the gala dinner. The award ceremony of the winners of the International Review Competition of the best final projects of 2018 was held during the gala dinner.
Participants of the Festival at the closing ceremony expressed: “Many countries already know our Festival, representatives of universities from different countries are happy to attend it, we have an honest review competition of final projects”.
They expressed special gratitude to the initiator and organizer of the International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia Mr.Amirlan Kussainov for having the opportunity to meet each other.
