History of the Architecture Faculty
Architecture Faculty (AF) was established in 1966 in the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute on the basis of two departments V.I. Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute: “Urban Development” and “Perspective geometry”, whereas the first admission for Speciality of architecture was made in 1961. The core of established Faculty was “Urban Development” Department created in 1964. The establisher of local architectural school is T.K. Basenov - the first Kazakh scientist-architect and graduate of Leningrad’s architectural school, the student of professor Gofman and academician Schusev, the first chairman of Architects’ union of Kazakhstan established in 1936, candidate of architecture, member-correspondent of the Academy of architecture и construction of USSR, prominent constructor of Kazakh SSR. Life of the Architecture Faculty
The Faculty of architecture has wide connections with many universities and companies in close and far abroad countries.
The Faculty takes active part in social life of KLAACE. They celebrate traditionally Nauryz holiday, the International Architect’s Day, corporate picnics, volleyball competitions, chess tournaments, Spartakiade among teachers and professors and etc.
